It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Pabek Gany, a cherished father, son, friend, and mentor, whose life was tragically cut short. Pabek’s passing has left an immense void in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Pabek was a true shining light, whose warmth, charisma, and radiant smile brightened every room he entered. He had a rare ability to uplift everyone around him, whether a stranger on the street, a close friend, or a family member. Those who knew Pabek remember his kindness, his generosity, and his unwavering loyalty to the people he loved. His presence brought comfort, joy, and a sense of security to all who crossed his path.
A proud and dedicated student-athlete, Pabek was a leader of the University of Waterloo Warriors Football program from 2012 to 2016, while earning his degree in Criminal Justice. On and off the field, he led with integrity, determination, and compassion, inspiring teammates and peers alike. His commitment to excellence, both in academics and athletics, reflected the depth of his character and his desire to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others.
Pabek’s love for his family was boundless. He worked tirelessly to provide for his loved ones and instilled in his children the values of courage, kindness, and resilience. His legacy lives on through them and through the countless lives he touched with his generosity, mentorship, and heart.
In honour of Pabek’s life, a fundraiser has been established to directly support his mother and children. Contributions will help continue the work he dedicated himself to—ensuring the well-being of those he loved most. Every gift, no matter the size, is a way to honor his memory and carry forward the love and care he so freely gave.
